ADCE

Logotype design

Owned and managed by the national design and advertising associations of twelve European countries, The Art Directors Club of Europe, ADCE, was founded in 1990 as a not-for-profit organisation with a mission to foster and reward excellence in European design and advertising. The ADCE promotes creativity and brings creatives together through its annual awards, events, programmes and publications.

Ohlsonsmith were invited to update the organisation’s logotype.

Since The Art Directors Club of Europe is such a well-known professional organisation we decided to use only the acronym, ADCE. We replaced the word “of” with a star, which is the same symbol on the award trophy – presented to a star creative.

The new logotype is energetic, self-confident – and instantly communicates the positive and inspirational goals of the organisation. The star symbol brings it all together – organisation, award, excellence and Europe.

The logotype was designed in collaboration with Minja Smajic.
