Guldskrift is an award for best advertising copywriter that is presented annually by The Swedish Association of Communication Agencies and media broker Citypaketet at the Guldägget gala (The Golden Egg Award) in Stockholm.
The organisers approached us to design a trophy that would convey authority and draw more attention to the Guldskrift award within the award ceremony lineup. Our challenge was to find one symbol that could communicate text and top prize at the same time.
To celebrate the importance of the written word, we formed the trophy as a capital G for “Guldskrift” using the typeface Times New Roman. The trophy is made of solid brass and weighs a full 5 kilos. It’s big, bold and heavy.
